Privacy Policy
RoveWise for iPhone · Effective October 11, 2026
Short version: where you've been and what you wrote stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We don't collect it, we can't see it, and we don't share or sell anything.
This policy explains how RoveWise (the "app"), made by VW Enterprises LLC ("we", "us"), handles information. If you have questions, email contact@vwe.llc.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, and no servers of ours. The places you stay and stop at, your trips, dates, sites, prices, ratings, notes, photos, receipts, packing lists, reminders, routes, expenses and the names of the people you travel with are stored on your iPhone and in iCloud, as described below. We have no way to access them.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking code, and no third-party software that collects data.
iCloud
If you're signed in to iCloud, the app keeps your log in sync through Apple's iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage, so it's on your other devices and comes back on a new iPhone. Only you can see it there.
The most personal parts are stored with end-to-end encryption, which means Apple can't read them either: the locations and addresses of your places, your notes, site details, saved route links and the names of your travelers. The rest, including photos and receipts, is protected by iCloud's standard encryption, and is end-to-end encrypted too if you've turned on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud.
If you don't use iCloud, the app keeps everything on your iPhone only.
Information the app uses on your device
Some features use information on your iPhone, only when you use them:
- Location. Used only when you tap I'm Here Now, to find the campground, trail or restaurant you're at. Your location isn't stored or tracked; only the place you pick is saved.
- Camera and photos. Used only when you take or choose a photo of a site or a stop, or scan a receipt. Only the photos you pick are added; the app can't see the rest of your library. Receipts are read on your iPhone.
- Notifications. Trip reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us.
- Widgets and the Share menu. The app keeps a small copy of your next trip on your iPhone so the widget can show it. A route you share from a maps app to RoveWise waits on your iPhone until you next open the app.
Services the app connects to
- Apple Maps. When you search for a place or tap I'm Here Now, the search, and for I'm Here Now your location, go to Apple Maps to find places. Maps in the app come from Apple Maps too.
- Google Maps. Only if you choose it as your map app or open a Google Maps route link: the directions or place open in Google Maps, which receives them under Google's privacy policy.
- Websites and phone numbers. A place's website opens in Safari, and its phone number in the Phone app.
What you send or export
Send a Copy makes a file of a trip, with its places, dates, notes, ratings, prices, lists, reminders and routes, but not its photos, expenses or travelers. Spreadsheet and PDF exports contain your log. Each goes only where you choose to send or save it.
Purchases
RoveWise Pro is sold through Apple's App Store, as a one-time purchase or a yearly subscription. Apple handles payment and renewals, and we never receive your payment details. The app checks with Apple whether you have Pro. Apple provides us with sales reports that don't identify you.
Crash reports and diagnostics
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports and usage statistics. These don't include the information you store in the app. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Backups
Like most apps, RoveWise's data on your iPhone is included in your iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer) if you use them. Those backups are handled by Apple under your Apple Account, and we can't access them.
Contacting us
If you email us or use the form on our website, we use what you send only to reply to you.
Deleting your data
You can delete any stay, stop, trip, list or photo in the app. To remove the app's data from iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud, then Storage, then RoveWise, and delete its data. Deleting the app removes what it stored on that iPhone. Because we don't hold any of your data, there's nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
RoveWise is meant for adults. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you. We don't hold any personal information from the app, but you're welcome to contact us with any request or question.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
